Caohai due to the long history of the lake, located in a special geographic location, sunshine, clean water, cool climate, water and heat conditions are superior, so biological resources are very rich. The “fine fish of Caohai” is famous both inside and outside the province. The number of birds in Caohai is large, and there are more than one hundred kinds of birds, among which there are eleven kinds of rare animals belonging to the first and second categories of national protection, such as black-necked cranes, white-headed cranes, white spoonbills, gray cranes, etc. In late spring and early summer, the area around Caohai is very rich in biological resources. At the end of spring and beginning of summer, the azaleas around the Sea of Grass compete with each other, adding a colorful picture to the Sea of Grass, which is an ideal resort for domestic and foreign people to investigate and study birds and travel to avoid the summer heat.

In order to protect such a beautiful Sea of Grass, Guizhou Institute of Engineering and Applied Technology and the Management Committee of the Sea of Grass have jointly introduced the multi-parameter water quality monitoring system of Dianjiang Technology, which continuously and scientifically monitors the dissolved oxygen, blue-green algae, chlorophyll, COD, PH, ORP, water temperature, conductivity, salinity, TDS, turbidity and other indexes in real time for the protection of the Sea of Grass, and has injected a force into the protection of the Sea of Grass.
