The On-Deck Data System is a monitoring system intended for the automated collection of mid-water and bottom data by commercial fishermen. The loggers are attached to fishing gear (typically traps, nets or long-lines) and data is transferred from the loggers to the Deck Data Hub when the fishing gear is on deck. The Deck Data Hub automatically downloads the data from the data logger(s), archives a copy of the data, sends a copy to a remote server and plots the temperature for viewing by fishermen. Multiple loggers can be used with one Deck Data Hub.
The OTD Logger measures orientation, temperature and depth. The DOT-1 Logger measure dissolved oxygen and temperature. The information is then transferred to the internet by 4G cellular modem or WiFi.
