The eosAC-LT/LO is an automated chamber for measuring multi-species soil gas flux (including CO2, CH4 and N2O). Up to 12 chambers can be connected to a single gas analyzer via the eosMX or eosMX-P multiplexers. The eosAnalyze software enables quick and easy processing of flux data on any Windows-based computer.
Large chamber volume and footprint
Opaque or transparent, field-ready design
Seamless integration with various GHG analyzers
Customizable sampling, data pre-processing & flux calculation software
Potential Applications:
Measuring net ecosystem exchange (NEE)
Partitioning NEE
Emissions of trace gases like nitrous oxide
Agricultural land management impacts
Wetland vegetation
Cover larger topographic features like hummocks
Peripheral measurements (e.g. PAR, soil temperature, soil moisture)
Large Chamber Volume & Footprint:
The eosAC-LT/LO is one of the largest flux chambers on the market. The chamber stands 45.7 cm (18 in) high and has an internal volume of 0.072 m3 (2.5 ft3) to allow for flux measurements from more diverse and larger types of vegetation. Additionally, the large footprint of the chamber (0.21 m2 or 2.3 ft2) accommodates measurements of surface features like hummocks to detect changes in emissions with topography. An internal fan ensures proper mixing of trace gases inside the chamber. An eosAC-LT/LO base extension can also be used to add additional height to the chamber. Base extensions are available in 30 cm (11.8 in) or 70 cm (27.6 in) lengths and can be made from either clear or opaque material.
Opaque or Transparent Design:
The eosAC-LT/LO chamber is available in either a transparent (-LT) or opaque (-LO) design, enabling measurements of net ecosystem exchange (NEE) or soil respiration. An internal auxiliary port allows for PAR or soil temperature and moisture measurements to be collected from inside the chamber. The open position of the chamber can be set to custom values to protect it from high winds or to prevent the chamber from coming into contact with trees or other obstacles. To help ensure you get the most out of your field time, the eosAC-LT/LO is designed so that all critical components are easily field replaceable. The modular design of the chamber saves time and money on repairs and minimizes data loss due to instrument downtime.
Seamless Integration with Various GHG Analyzers:
The eosAC-LT/LO was designed with flexibility in mind. It seamlessly integrates with ABB-LGR, Gasmet and Picarro gas analyzers. Our eosLink-AC software runs directly on these compatible analyzers and allows users to schedule and customize automated measurements. The eosAC-LT/LO is also compatible with other greenhouse gas analyzers via a Campbell Scientific CR1000X or CR6 datalogger. Contact us to learn more about using eosAC-LT/LO chambers and the eosMX multiplexer with a datalogger and a third party analyzer.
Customizable Sampling, Data Pre-processing & Flux Calculation Software:
The eosAC-LT/LO and accompanying eosLink software automates sampling and data pre-processing, helping researchers save time. With the eosLink software, chamber measurement cycles are fully customizable. Users can specify the duration of chamber openings and closures, as well as gas line purges between sampling events. The eosLink software also keeps data organized so each measurement is automatically assigned to the chamber it was collected with and gas analyzer timestamps are matched to chamber sampling events.
At its core, eosAnalyze is a powerful tool for quickly and easily processing and analyzing flux chamber data. Users can calculate fluxes using linear or exponential curve fitting, and easily integrate peripheral measurements like soil moisture, soil temperature and photosynthetically active radiation (PAR). Data is imported into eosAnalyze directly from compatible analyzers, providing maximum flexibility and utility for users.
