With its comprehensive communication options (RS-485, Modbus, WLAN, LoRaWan, MQTT), the WSC Advanced can be easily integrated into modern IoT networks.
 
The WSC Advanced weather station is one of the most compact devices on the market and provides different measured values for reliable weather monitoring. Its maintenance-free design with no moving parts ensures a long service life. The station offers measurement accuracy that is perfectly matched to applications in building management systems, agriculture and smart cities. With its comprehensive communication options (RS-485, Modbus, WLAN, LoRaWan, MQTT), the WSC Advanced can be easily integrated into modern IoT networks.
A wired serial RS485 interface (ASCII, Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP) as well as WLAN and optional LoRaWan are available for measurement data acquisition and control of the device. The WLAN interface allows direct transmission of the measured values to an MQTT server such as the Thies Cloud (preset). In conjunction with the Thies Cloud, hourly forecast values are available at MODBUS and ASCII level for various weather parameters, making it possible to realise intelligent models in the control system that take future weather developments into account.
A thermal wind sensor enables measurement without moving parts, which ensures low maintenance and a long service life. The Thies THERMACERN® ceramic sensor records the precipitation intensity as well as the weather condition (frost, ice, snow, hail).
